Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, invites customers to participate in the PANTONE Color Kill Contest. Contest participants are asked to flex their creativity by submitting videos via YouTube showing an outdated PANTONE FORMULA GUIDE coated being destroyed.
All qualified entries submitted to www.pantone.com/colorkill, in accordance with official rules and entry guidelines, are eligible to receive a 35 percent discount off the purchase of a new set of PANTONE FORMULA GUIDES and the chance to win an Apple® iPhone™ and Apple TV™. Entries will be accepted April 10 -November 30, 2007.
Contest Rules
- The contest is open to North American residents only who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry. Official contest rules can also be found at www.pantone.com/colorkill.
- All video submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges based on two criteria: creativity/uniqueness of idea and quality of execution.
- Prizes are as follows:
- Grand Prize: Apple iPhone and Apple TV (valued at $955)
- First Place: Apple iPhone with PANTONE ESSENTIALS (valued at $955)
- Second Place: QuarkXPress® 7 and PANTONE COLOR BRIDGE® coated (valued at $865)
- Third Place: PANTONE ESSENTIALS PLUS (valued at $359)

PANTONE FORMULA GUIDES provide a consistent method for selecting, matching and specifying solid PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors. As with any printed piece, the appearance of colors in PANTONE Fan Guides and publications change over time from light exposure and the natural yellowing of paper. Designers and printers need to keep color publications current and work from the same editions to avoid potentially costly mistakes in the production process.
