CreativePro Week Preview: 5 Presentation Power-Ups
Our Editor in Chief shares his list of five sessions on Illustrator and Photoshop that you do not want to miss at CreativePro Week 2024
CreativePro Week 2024 kicks off in less than a month! The agenda is packed with over 70 mind-blowing sessions on InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and more. And whether you join us in Washington DC or online, you do not want to miss these five awesome sessions on presentation design.
Storytelling in PowerPoint
Great storytelling is an essential part of a great presentation. You can have beautiful slides, a commanding stage presence, and an important message to convey, but if your story is dull or disjointed, your presentation will never land with your audience. So, Jole Simmons’ session on nailing the story is at the top of my list.
Slidedeck Remix: Before & After
I’m pretty sure Mike Parkinson is a wizard with the ability to control time. I have no other explanation for how he can take a full day’s worth of amazing content, and pack it into an hour that’s so fun and informative that it feels like just ten minutes or so. Actually, I know there’s no magic, just a great presenter at the top of his game dishing out killer design ideas that we can all make use of.
Accessibility in PowerPoint
Most of the time, when we think about accessibility, it’s in relation to documents, such as PDFs. But presentations should be accessible too! And there’s no one better suited than Dax Castro to weigh in on what PowerPoint does well (and not so well) when it comes to accessibility. Dax will show you how to make sure everyone in the audience gets the message.
Amped Up PowerPoint: Working Smarter and Faster
No designer ever complained that they finished a project too early with too much ease and too little stress. But, hey, we can dream, right? And if there’s one guy who can show you how to make that dream come true, it’s Nolan Haims, the man with the bottomless bag of PowerPoint tips and hacks.
Richard Goring
I use scripts, plug-ins, and add-ins to enhance every one of the major apps I use—except for PowerPoint, simply because I don’t know much about what’s out there. As the Director of BrightCarbon (makers of the BrightSlide add-in for PowerPoint), Richard Goring definitely knows what constitutes a worthy addition to a presentation design toolset. So, I’m excited to learn about cool stuff I didn’t even know I needed.
Empowering Points
Whether you’re a struggling newbie or a seasoned pro, these five sessions can help you take your presentation design game to the next level. And of course, they’re just the tip of the iceberg of what you can learn at CreativePro Week. But time is running out! Register now and don’t miss out.
