I’m looking for a way to preview my InDesign CS6 document horizontally
InDesign does not offer a way to view the pages horizontally in the document window. But the Pages panel can kind-of, sort-of offer what you want. The trick is to:
- Make your Pages panel huge (pull it out of the dock and fill the width of your screen if you want!)
- Choose Panel Options in the Pages panel menu and set the size of the page previews to Jumbo (the largest option).
- Set the Pages panel view options to Horizontal (in CS5.5 and earlier, that’s in the Panel Options dialog box; in CS6, as Cari pointed out, that’s in the Pages panel menu)
The result looks something like this:

Of course, you probably don’t want to leave your screen like this, because the Pages panel is taking up too much space. Fortunately, you can save it as a workspace (Window > Workspace > New Workspace). Then you can swap from your normal workspace to this one quickly and easily.
