Corel Updates Painter with New Features, iPad controls

Corel has released a second free update to Painter 12, in conjunction with a new free companion app that allows users to control Painter with an iPad.

A new Flow Maps feature enables users to direct the flow of paint and control the saturation of colors in peaks and valleys of textures.

Vertical docking allows drag and drop docking of palettes to the vertical edges of the screen.

New multi-touch support for Wacom Intuos5 touch pen tablets and Cintiq 24HD touch interactive pen displays has been added. Users can now pan, spin, and pinch to control the orientation and magnification of art.

In addition to updating the main application, Corel has also released a free companion app for iOS, called Corel Cinco for Painter. This app allows users to configure their iPads to control Painter. The app fatures a fully customizable interface where users can assign tools and commands to any location on the screen for instant touch access.
