Capture the Look of Classic Analog Photography With VSCO Film Emulations
If you were an avid photographer in the analog days, you probably had a few favorite films to work with. I think I still have a few dusty canisters of Fujifilm that I’ll never be able to part with.
But just because you’ve moved on to digital tools doesn’t mean you can’t get that old favorite look, thanks to folks like Visual Supply Co (VSCO), who offer digital film emulations for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Camera Raw, and Aperture. Currently VSCO offers five different sets of emulations, including classic films, modern films, slide films, and instant films.
The newest collection, Archetype Films includes emulations of a dozen consumer films from the golden age of analog photography.
Here’s the full list of film emulations in the Archetype collection:
Agfa Vista 100
Agfa Vista 400
Agfa Vista 800
Fuji Neopan 400
Kodak BW400CN
Kodak Ektar 100
Kodak Gold 100
Kodak Gold 200
Kodak Max 800
Kodak Royal Gold 400
Kodak Ultramax 400
Kodak Ultramax 800
The VSCO Archetype Films collection retails for $119, but it’s on sale now.
And while you’re in that analog film state of mind, check out this awesome Flickr set of canister images from Wee Sen Goh.
