BatchOutput for InDesign Adds IDML Support

Press Release
Zevrix Solutions has announced
BatchOutput 3.9, a feature update to its popular professional solution to automate printing, exporting and post-processing from Adobe InDesign. Developed originally at one of the largest ad agencies in Canada to boost productivity of its prepress department, BatchOutput automates and simplifies workflow of printers, service providers and publishing houses.
BatchOutput is more than just a plug-in – it’s a workflow automation solution which interacts with Acrobat Pro preflight engine, provides digital delivery capabilities, and integrates fully with the Finder. Users only need to select the files to output and adjust the settings, and the rest will be done automatically. The users can work with other programs while BatchOutput is running in the background. Or they can let it work while they’re on a lunch break or even leave it working overnight to output hundreds of documents and the job will be done when they return in the morning.
BatchOutput can also automatically preflight final PDF using Acrobat Pro droplets and even deliver the output files to FTP and local destinations complete with email notifications.
As Tami Stodghill wrote in X-Ray magazine, “The complete automation hooked me – BatchOutput lets you work after hours without lifting a finger.”
BatchOutput automates printing as well as exporting to PDF, PostScript, EPS, Flash, INX and various image formats. It offers the following powerful automation capabilities:
* Print and export hundreds of InDesign files with a single click
* Output files as single pages
* Update links automatically
* Assign complex variable file names
* Preflight final PDF automatically with Acrobat Pro droplets
* Send final files automatically to FTP and locally
The new update automates exporting to InDesign Markup format (IDML). IDML files can be opened in previous versions of InDesign as well as used in automated publishing workflows.
BatchOutput is also available as a server version which offloads printing and exporting to a central system by automatically processing InDesign files from hot folders.
