Award-Winning Axiotron Modbook – the World's Only Tablet Mac – to be Showcased by Professional Designers, Animators, Artists and
Axiotron™, Inc., a leading proprietary high-tech hardware solution provider, announced today that it will be showcasing the unparalleled design functionality and broad range of applications offered by its award-winning, recently shipped Modbook™ during in-booth seminars and demonstration stations featuring a cadre of artists, designers, photographers and software representatives at Macworld Expo® 2008 (booth # S-408).
Named Best of Show at Macworld 2007, Axiotron’s Modbook, the only Mac-based tablet computer on the market, continues to receive worldwide acclaim by the professional design community for its seamless integration of a state-of-the-art Wacom® pen-enabled display with the Apple® MacBook® computer’s legendary ease of use and design sensibility, giving artists and design-oriented professionals enhanced onscreen drawing and sketching functionality when they need it most.
In highlighting the Modbook’s capabilities at the upcoming Macworld Expo, Axiotron’s booth will transform into an interactive classroom with onsite design seminars conducted by renowned comic book artist Kody Chamberlain, Emmy award-winning animator Shannon Tindle, award-winning photographer Caesar Lima, acclaimed architectural designer Matthew Brewster and Cal State Fullerton design professor Bryan Cantley.
"It is a great compliment to be embraced by the professional design community and a testament to the increased freedom and flexibility that the Modbook gives artists and design-oriented professionals when creating and editing digital art," said Andreas Haas, President of Axiotron. "Since the initial product launch, the Modbook’s designation as an Apple-authorized product has allowed us to better meet the needs of the talented and inspired artists, designers and photographers that we had in mind when we developed our Modbook. Infused within the overall design of every Modbook are years of research and engineering that have resulted in a product that succeeds in meeting the specialized needs of the niche design community."
In addition to the scheduled in-booth seminars, Axiotron will partner with Microsoft®, Adobe®, Corel®, Autodesk®, Circus Ponies™ Software, GPSNavX™ and Vision Objects® to present the Modbook’s broad range of application functionality at numerous hands-on booth demonstration stations.
"We are excited that these outstanding software experts have agreed to partner with us in order to demonstrate the perfect blend of style and functionality that is the Modbook," added Haas.
As a fully functional slate-style tablet Mac, the Axiotron Modbook melds Apple MacBook’s speed, power, superior strength and elegance with Wacom’s leading digitizer technology to produce a fast, accurate and intuitive user experience with an unparalleled 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity that is twice that of any tablet PC on the market. And, each Modbook comes standard with an Axiotron Digitizer Pen featuring 2 programmable side buttons plus a digital eraser, and 3 different types of replaceable pen tips that offer a wider range of drawing styles and sensations for increased precision and control. As an added bonus, every Modbook ordered before February 29th includes an extra Axiotron Digitizer Pen and replaceable pen tips.
Pre-Installed with Mac OS® X Leopard, the award winning OS X built-in Inkwell® handwriting recognition, a 2.0GHz or 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a built-in iSight® camera, an integrated 24x DVD Combo drive or 8x DVD SuperDrive with double layer support and a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS), the Modbook delivers a powerful user experience like no other tablet-style computer on the market.
Complementing the Apple MacBook base system is the Axiotron Modbook’s largest-in-class wide angle 13.3" widescreen display that offers wider viewing angles and a higher contrast ratio, resulting in darker blacks and more vivid, saturated colors while maintaining the same resolution and aspect ratio of the original MacBook display.
Both the Modbook’s top shell and interior display frame are built from top grade, aircraft quality magnesium alloy, providing superior structural strength for almost every situation. A triple layer of metal plating – nickel over copper and topped with chrome – results in an extremely scratch resistant and aesthetically pleasing surface, offered in standard satin finish (available immediately) or optional mirror finish (available in late February 2008).
The Modbook has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at $2,290 and is available in the United States and Canada exclusively through Axiotron Authorized Resellers (AAR).
