Appligent Launches AbridgePDF

Appligent, Inc., (https://www.appligent.com/), a leading provider of Portable Document Format (PDF)-related software solutions, today announced the availability of AbridgePDF, a plug-in utility for organizing information in collections of PDF documents. AbridgePDF extracts information identified by Adobe Standard Mark-up (highlight, underline and strikethrough) from a collection of documents and creates a new file containing that information along with hyperlinks back to the source documents.
AbridgePDF is geared toward professionals and students who work with large collections of electronic documents and need to create summaries, concordances, and lists of citations with quick access to the source documents. AbridgePDF’s support for multiple colored highlighting enables collaborative mark-up in workgroups or increased levels of categorization.
Summary documents created by AbridgePDF can be further marked-up to create a multi-level synopsis linked together and able to instantly reference back to the complete original material.
"As more documents become digital many of the techniques used to track information in the paper-based world are becoming obsolete," said Virginia Gavin, president of Appligent. "With AbridgePDF you can create a virtual ‘CliffsNotes’ for any document or collection of documents for real-time reference by you or others."
AbridgePDF is a plug-in for Acrobat 5, 6, and 7 running on the Windows 2000 and above. AbridgePDF costs $99.00 and is available directly from Appligent’s Web store at https://www.appligent.com/ or from our sales department (610) 284-4006.
AbridgePDF is the newest member of Appligent’s Utilities family of products. Appligent has five other families covering the spectrum of PDF manipulation that include Appending/Publishing, Redaction, Forms Processing, Stamping and Security.
