Alien Skin Eye Candy
Weighing in at a more-than-respectable 21 separate filters, Eye Candy is exactly what its name entails. A successor to Black Box filter set, Eye Candy includes the original 10 filters and adds an additional 11. Publish.com’s Ralph Berger asserts that the new filters lack the usefulness of the Black Box set in his review, although he is definitely in the minority. The vast majority of the reviewers found Eye Candy to be both a fun tool and a useful one. PhotoResource Magazine gave a five-star report, concluding “For anyone using Photoshop, or any of the other programs that Eye Candy is compatible with, this 3.0 version is a simple, effective, time saving program you should not be without.” The bottom-line from GrafX Design? “These filters can help increase the usefulness of your favorite paint program. You may find that you can’t live without them ”
PC Café gave a great review, and not only because it described Eye Candy as “addictive and a must have for anyone that wants to have fun with special effects”, their review also reported on the skill level necessary, the new features and the system requirements.
