ABBYY FineScanner Turns iPhones and iPads into Mobile Scanners

ABBYY, makers of OCR, text extraction, and document conversion software have released a new app that can turn your iPhone or iPad in to all-purpose mobile scanner.

ABBYY FineScanner allows users to scan documents, receipts, magazine and newspaper articles, presentation slides (including charts and graphs), and more, and then save the results as high quality PDFs or JPGs.

The app features automatic page boundary detection, controls for cropping, brightness and contrast, and the ability to save as color, grayscale, or black and white.

Scans can be saved as single page or multi-page PDFs and can be printed via AirPrint, or sent to email, Dropbox, GoogleDocs, Evernote, and Facebook.

Other notable iOS scanning apps include

Scanner Pro ($6.99)

Doc Scan HD ($2.99)
