Ok, I have 2 offset printers that insist that I send them PDF files that are outlined (never mind one of the primary purposes of PDF is to eliminate the need to outline fonts). At any rate, I had created a PDF setting based on the PDF/X-3:2003 standard, and in the Advanced settings for output I had selected “High Res Convert to Outlines” … never had a problem with it and it kept my printers happy.
I just got a new MBP and to my chagrin, that option no longer appears in the dropdown.
Can someone tell me if I’m missing something here? I also copied my preset (Offset wCrops X3 outlines.joboptions) file to my new computer and although it shows up in the list, the resulting PDF is NOT outlined.
I know I can manually select all and convert to outlines, but seriously, what gives here? I can’t find anything on Adobe that talks about this.
My old laptop is running the same build of INDD as my new one: 12.1.0.56 and I’m running MacOS Sierra, latest build.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
