I’m formatting a book for kids and at the end of each chapter, there is a box with all of the French words used by the main character in the chapter.

It has a cute graphic header, and then a box with an outline and a table inside with alternating fills so its easy for eye to move across from the word to the translation.

I used ‘convert text to table’ in order to place it in the table.
I then made a table style and cell styles but they don’t seem to apply to any new tables. I don’t want to manually have to format each dictionary table. Am I doing something wrong?

For what its worth, I don’t really need the tables anchored inside the text as its all proofed already and I don’t really anticipate things moving around.

      1) Within the table style definitions box, under General, it offers you cell styles to automatically be applied to all rows (including body, header, footer, left and right column).
      2) Set that up, and then, when converting text to table, at the bottom of the “Convert Text to Table” dialog box, there is a line “Table Style” – select your preferred table style in that dialog and it will apply it and the cell styles that you just set up in stage 1.

Combine those two and you should be there.

      Regards,
      Chris.
