      Hi
Sometimes i make grids in indesign with dotted stroke and when i export to pdf/x-1a:2001 the stroke missmatch.
it locks fine in indesign at full zoom but not in acrobat and it prints like the pdf. Export eps works…

example: the stroke 0.3 pt, and dotted repetion is 0,25mm, the grid is 5x5mm.
      Dokument size 210x297mm, A4, margins left 20mm, right 5mm, top 6 mm, bottom 6mm

      Any ide’s :-)

      Hi Nicklas,

Can you post a link to a screenshot of the file stroke in InDesign as well as in Acrobat?

It sounds like you’re using a custom stroke style. Try editing the stroke style to adjust the Dashes and Gaps (or just Gaps), and see if that helps.

Yes it’s custom, so it works with the metric system the gaps are 0,25mm, but what i don’t understand is why it moves when i export to pdf. looks perfect in indesign…

Here are a example: Dotted stroke 1mm thick with custom gaps of 1mm duplicated 5mm x 5mm perfect in indesign and moves in the pdf.

That looks like a bug indeed. I was hoping I would be able to help, but I cannot. What happens if you create s second InDesign document containing just the grid and place that as a graphic into InDesign?

Or, just create the grid in Illustrator and place it as a graphic. I think that would be the best choice.

Tanks for your interest in this :-) duplicate circles around works… so i guess it’s something deep down in the mechanics with the stroke thingy…
it’s a old problem that has followed me for years.

      Tanks
