      Hi.

I´ve been googling much about this issue but haven´t found much useful info, so I try to find it here. Is the answer so obvious hat no one asked themselves this question?

I have an Indesign-document with one spot colour and rgb images. Can I export with PDF/X 1-a to convert all RGB to CMYK, but still preserve the spot color as a separate plate. What component in the export settings is it that controls when spot colors comes out on separate plates?

      Regards Richard

Great quesiton, Ralla. Yes, when you export to PDF/X1-a, all the RGB converts to CMYK, but the spot color remains. To control spot color conversion, use the Ink Manager:

      Ralla,

I agree with David for the conversion, but if you want to convert spot to cmyk, consider looking for Pantone Bridge. It's free and comes with cs5.5 (I think). That way the spot colors are converted to cmyk with the exact values and these are slightly different from the ink manager ones.
