      I’ve a document in InDes5 with 3 paragraph styles:

A- for headlline , text is centred, font Times 20/18 pt
B- for sub headlline , text is centred, font Times 14/16 pt
C – for text body , left aligned, font Times 10/12 pt

When I place new plain text, I apply 3 styles one after another and the result is OK.

      My big question is:
How to set this document in such a way that
when I place new text, all 3 paragraph styles will be applied automatically and produce the headline, sub headline and text body without having to select each portion of the newly placed text and applying each paragraph style by hand?

Can someone guide me how to do this, please?

Try to use a master page, with the three text boxes placed where needed and their styles applied. Then create the new document pages based ont that master page and that should be all.

Use an object style on the text frame, you need to include the para styles and use the next style feature in those para styles.

Sorry this is a bit brief but I have got to go …

About the tip from RoManuV -“Try to use a master page…”

I wonder is it possible to save this kind if settings , say as a template and use it when needed?

And big thanks guys for your time!!!

This depends on 2 workflows (your choice): separate text frames or 1 text frame.

If 1 text frame, do this:
      –create your last style first

–create your second to last style and choose the last style in the Apply Next Style pulldown

–create the first style and choose the second style in the Apply Next Style pulldown

Now, create an Object Style. Go to Para Styles in the Obj style panel and choose the first style, then click Apply Next Style.

If it's all separate text frames, the first post in this thread will get it done.
