Hey gang,
Longtime lurker, first-time poster.
I'm having trouble geting a table of contents to work properly in an InDesign book document. My TOC is a separate file in my book. Everything looks fine when I create the TOC. Page numbers are correct, etc. I check the options to “create PDF bookmarks” and “include book documents” when the TOC is generated. But when I click the TOC bookmarks in the resulting PDF, the links don't work. When I check their properties, they are all set to “link to a page in another document” and not “link to a page in this document.” The “other documents” are the names of the files in my INDB document. To fix this, I have been going into the PDF in Acrobat and manually relinking each bookmark to the correct page. Is the link between a PDF bookmark and its corresponding page “broken” when InDesign assembles the files of a book? I find that hard to believe. What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you!
