As Early Bird Deadline Approaches, Chicago Applescript Event Announces Speaker, Expanded Coverage
The organizers of AppleScript Pro Sessions are delighted to announce that noted author, TidBITS contributor, and Man of Opinions Matt Neuburg will be teaching at the upcoming Chicago sessions. Neuburg will lead a session on AppleScript Studio and Automator at the five-day event October 31-November 4. Neuburg is author of "AppleScript: The Definitive Guide" from O’Reilly.
"Matt gave an exciting presentation our last session, revealing many little-known tips for working with Xcode, Interface Builder, and Cocoa in Tiger," said Ray Robertson, session co-leader. "He shares a tremendous amount of knowledge with the group and provides many samples of code for the course CD."
The Chicago event also includes expanded coverage of scripting InDesign. "InDesign has such huge scripting support that we really need more than a day to cover it," said Shane Stanley, session co-leader. "Our new format is also allowing us to devote more time to the latest tips for working with AppleScript in Tiger."
Other sessions will cover scripting Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, QuarkXPress, FileMaker, BBEdit and more, comparing current and earlier versions of applications when appropriate.
The early bird deadline for registration is September 15, with pricing starting at $1300 for any three days, and a special discounted package of $1600 for all five days.
The sessions will be held at Indian Lakes Resort, just minutes from O’Hare Airport. Rooms are available at a special price of $95 a night, which includes broadband internet access. The number of rooms is limited and rooms must be reserved by September 15 to receive the discounted rate, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
