macXware Gets Creative With MacFonts 2

macXware™ (a division of Summitsoft Corporation) announced today the release of a new collection of 1000 classic, designer and refined fonts that seek to standardize the use of fonts in the OpenType® font format, and better suit the needs of both personal and professional users. The MacFonts 2 collection includes 1000 unique fonts not found in the original MacFonts.
“More creative users are discovering the simple flexibility of the OpenType font format,” states Ishan Amin, Summitsoft’s VP of Product Development. “while realizing they don’t have to make any sacrifice to the quality of their work. MacFonts 2 also includes a new FontManager that users can now mount directly to their desktop to easily manage installed fonts in TrueType, OpenType and PostScript formats.”
The OpenType font format provides a distinct advantage over TrueType®, PostScript® and other font formats. These include a single cross-platform compatible font file for easy font management and improved document portability between the Mac and PC platforms; a smaller font file size; ability to embed fonts into PDF projects; superior print quality; improved language support with an expanded set of international characters including the Euro currency symbol; and, advanced typographic control where a single font file may contain many nonstandard glyphs such as small caps and stacked fractions.
MacFonts 2 is now available for purchase in Apple retail stores, CompUSA, Fry’s Electronics, Microcenter and other software retailers or online for an MSRP of $29.99.
