P22/IHOF New Releases May 2005
P22/ International House of Fonts announces the release of 2 new fonts, Kilkenny and St.G Schrift, from 2 new IHOF designers, Colin Kahn and Paul Hunt.
St. G Schrift is a font based on the type designs of German poet Stefan George. This sans-serif face features a few variations found in books published by George in Berlin. P22 St. G Schrift One™ features many unusual letterforms, while P22 St. G Schrift Two™ is a more standard sans. P22 St. G Italic™ is an art nouveau version of the roman, newly designed by eclectic designer Colin Kahn (https://www.p22.com/ihof/kahn.html). The original font was cast in 1907 by a small foundry in Germany and was used primarily for the works of George as well as other books including a monumental edition of Dante’s Divine Comedy. OpenType option available.
Kilkenny is a decorative, Victorian-style font based on the metal type named Nymphic which was designed by Hermann Ihlenberg. For this digital version, the character set has been expanded to include accented characters, punctuation and currency symbols (and most everything you would expect to find in a digital font). The OpenType version contains additional Central European characters as well as Cyrillic characters for a total of almost 1000 glyphs. Designed by Paul Hunt: https://www.p22.com/ihof/hunt.html.
The fonts in each set are available for download as singles or in sets. OpenType options are available for each title.
