With the huge success of tablets and other mobile devices, it’s no surprise that creatives everywhere are looking for ways to leverage their current skills and content for the purpose of making mobile apps. And if you’re a designer and not a coder, you’d probably think you need to start with InDesign, Quark, or maybe even PDF files as the basis of your workflow. But with the help of a plug-in called Kwik, Photoshop users can create apps directly from their favorite pixel-pushing program.
Kwik allows designers and illustrators working in Photoshop to add audio, video, animations, and other interactivity to their files, and then publish them as an app. Kwik works with Photoshop CS5 or later. You can create a universal project, or target a specific platform like iPad, iPhone, Nook, Kindle Fire, or other Android devices. Then you can add buttons, animations, and more to bring your Photoshop files to life.
