PRETTY + SMART: It takes more than good looks to make a design effective
AIGA will be awarding honors to work that’s both aesthetically pleasing and effective at solving challenges. The selections from the “AIGA 365 | Design Effectiveness” competition exemplify the most effective current work in communication design across all media, as chosen by a distinguished jury of design peers. The selections become part of the AIGA Design Archives, join the physical archives at the Denver Art Museum and are exhibited in a traveling exhibition that begins at the AIGA National Design Center in New York.

Making the Case
A new competition to demonstrate the value of design through case studies
You know from experience that good design is effective design. But how do you prove it? Through case studies, this competition provides an opportunity for design firms to show not just what they make, but how they think. “Making the Case” recognizes narratives that demonstrate the value of design in a clear, compelling and accessible way. A discerning and qualified jury will identify submissions that serve as an effective tool to explain design thinking to clients, students, peers and the public in general. The case studies selected will be published on AIGA.org
