Basic Multimedia Training Pack for Learning Quark Job Jackets Released
The IT Enquirer, a leading cross-media publishing industry website, has just released a Basic Multimedia Training Pack that teaches users of QuarkXPress 7 how to use Quark Job Jackets. The Basic Training Pack teaches QuarkXPress 7 users how they can simplify their workflow and save time with Job Jackets and Tickets. The Basic Quark Job Jackets Training Pack also outlines how to create Job Jackets from scratch for more advanced usage.
The basic Quark Job Jackets Training Pack is a 400 MB (approx. size) download containing:
- 4 Walkthrough Videos showing users how to work with Job Jackets in QuarkXPress 7 — these are aimed at both entry-level users and designers.
- 3 QuickTime (with slide transitions) or PDF (without slide transitions) Presentations which gives key points on the best ways to use Job Jackets.
- 1 Cheat Sheet.
“Based on the Job Definition Format (JDF), Quark Job Jackets is one of the most powerful and interesting features in QuarkXPress 7,” Erik Vlietinck, Editor of IT Enquirer said. “Using Job Jackets can be a little challenging at first, however it won’t take long for a user to learn how to use them effectively which will allow them to define layout and output parameters at the beginning of the design process. This enables consistent design across documents and projects, and makes compliance with standards such as those defined by the Ghent Workgroup easier. Job Jackets also save time by avoiding errors very early in the workflow.”
The Basic Quark Job Jackets Training Pack teaches users the fastest and easiest way to create and define Job Jackets and Tickets and their embedded Resources. When a user has successfully gone through the Training Pack, he or she should be able to create a Job Jacket or Ticket and share it with others, or vice versa and adapt a shared Job Jacket to his/her own needs.
Each Job Jacket has ‘Resources’ –project settings, layout settings, output specifications, etc– and these are organised in Job Tickets. Each Job Ticket can be created first as a template. Later on, the actual Job Ticket for a project can be based on the appropriate Ticket template.
A QuickTime Preview can be found at: https://www.it-enquirer.com/main/basic_jj/
Members of the press can download the Pack for review purposes –please send a request per e-mail.
The Basic Training Pack is sold for EUR 25.00. It can also be obtained by subscribing for a year of Premium Content at IT Enquirer.
Soon an Advanced Training Pack will be also be available. This Advanced Pack will include the Basic Training Pack, sample Job Jackets, including one containing Ghent Workgroup output specifications, and a Matrix Sheet that enables users to add Resources to Job Jackets more efficiently.
