Web-Only Series Covers Typography, Photography, More

PBS is responsible for a lot of innovative programming that appeals to creative pros’ sensibilities. But in some areas of the United Sates, the channel consists of Sesame Street, murder mysteries, and reruns of British shows decades past their sell-by date. Whether that describes your local station or you just want more of the good stuff, check out a new Web-only series called “Off Book” from PBS Arts.
Off Book’s 13 episodes are being released every two weeks and focus on untraditional art forms; for example, the first two shows are about light-painting photography and innovative typography.
The four-minute “Light Painting” episode interviews artists Aurora Crowley and Patrick Rocho:

The seven-minute episode called “Type” highlights the work of Tobias Frere-Jones, Jonathan Hoefler, Eddie Opara, Deroy Peraza, Paula Scher, and Julia Vakser. It’s a treat to watch:
