Sony Multiscan CPD-G500 display
Sony’s Multiscan CPD-G500 has gotten good reviews from critics and fairly glowing ones from consumers, and it’s easy to understand why. It has a roomy 21" screen, offers great image clarity and precision and produces outstanding contrast and greyscale performance. Features like a high contrast black coating on the vertical screen help to reduce eyestrain, and at a pricey ESP of $1,200, every little perk helps justify the cost of this sharp display.
Hardware One (full review) doesn’t mince words, saying "the Sony G500 is without a doubt one of the best 21" monitors you can find in the market." Jeff Lee’s review for Game PC doesn’t fall far behind, noting "the G500 is a great monitor that offers features no other competitors have or come even close to beating."
Not everyone is in complete agreement, though. CNET’s Galen Gruman found the G500 to be above average, yet had a few display flaws, leaving him feeling that it "could have been a great monitor, but flaws make it merely good." (full review)
