Do check the duplicate fonts issue as well though.

I found that font management software had somehow duplicated a ton of fonts during an update. I removed all the fonts and then just added them back in as I needed them and the slow panels issue disappeared completely.

I can’t be 100% sure that this is what fixed the issue, but not much else changed with my set-up during the process so I’m confident that clearing up duplicate fonts would help the panel problem.
