Worst. Logo. EVER.

The How Low Can Your Logo? contest asks you to set aside your pride and principles and “create that which you spend your entire life trying not to create: the worst logo ever.”
The Brief
The fictional client requesting this logo is Excellencico. You may recognize familiar phrases in its mocking description: The company “offers integrated turn-key solutions” and “harnesses evolving, dynamic e-technologies to provide unparalleled levels of synergistic e-products”. (I swear I read that on a real startup’s website last week.)
Excellencico wants a logo that is “simple and yet detailed, complex yet spare… ‘Just right’ is the vibe we are looking for.” And in a fitting end to this brief, Excellencico includes a picture of the company puppy and instructs the poor designer to “capture her spirit and attitude”.
Get some aspirin and Tums, then take a look at a few of the hundreds of logos submitted so far:
The Judges
The initial round of judging will be done by visitors to the site. Then the real judges step in, and they are one high-falutin’ bunch: Bryony Gomez-Palacio and Armin Vit, Chris Erickson, Frank Chimero, Jessica Hische, Mikey Burton, and The Heads of State.
The Prizes
Some of the prizes for the, er, “winner” are almost as funny as the brief: a Laserdisc player, a copy of one of the worst films ever, two pairs of 3D glasses. But there are also some legit prizes from the contest’s sponsors: subscriptions to Print and How magazines; three design books; 50 18″x24″ two-color prints; and 100 letterpressed business cards.
