Wildform Licenses Flash Video Exporter to Quark

Wildform, the leader in Flash video technology, today announced that it has licensed its Flix Flash video export component to Denver-based Quark, the industry leader in publishing software. The Flix Flash video export component will enable Quark products to export high quality Flash video.
Flix Exporter provides Flash video export using the Wildform codec with either high quality 2-pass variable bit rate (VBR) encoding, or faster 1-pass VBR. Flix Exporter can output files in both FLV and SWF formats. Both formats can be imported into Macromedia Flash and played using Macromedia Flash Player, which is installed on more than 97% of Internet-enabled desktop computers. FLV files have an unlimited play length and file size, and can also be displayed as streaming video using Macromedia Flash Communication Server.
Wildform CEO Jonathan Blank, noted, “Technology licensing is an integral part of our business and it’s great to partner with a company like Quark that has long been the industry leader in the publishing software space.”
“As our customers invest more heavily in multi-channel publishing, we need to look at ways to help our customers integrate many types of content,” said Jurgen Kurz, Quark senior vice president of product development. “Wildform puts another tool in our toolbox as we develop true multi-channel publishing solutions.”
