Michael asked: What’s that page number in the lower-left corner of the document window? In QuarkXPress it displays whatever page is touching the upper-left corner of the window, but I can’t figure it out in InDesign.
To be honest, Michael, this question has stumped me for 5 years, and I more or less gave up trying to figure it out. However, a kind Adobe engineer recently provided the answer: It’s the page number whose center point lies closest to the center point of the window. Aha! Like so many behaviors, it’s only obvious after you’re told where to look.
You can click in that lower-left field to select the page number, or press Command/Ctrl-J to jump there quickly. Then type 3 to go to page 3, +3 to jump to the “third page” of the document, or A to jump to “Parent page A.”
