Am I the only one who just got screwed by Adobe’s release of InDesign 2023(18.0). I suspect not.
Yesterday I was working on an almost 500-page science text with ID 2022. Today I went to open the app to edit that book again, it didn’t open. When I clicked on the book file, it did open but in ID 2023.
Even worse, Adobe has deleted all my previous versions of ID, including 2022 and lost some of my more valuable scripts. The latter has happened before, so I have copies stashed away. But I should not have to do that.
The key facts are that I never told Adobe to auto-update ID and certainly not to trash all the previous versions. I seem to recall this has happened before, but why can’t Adobe learn not to force updates on us, much less updates that trash previous versions and fail to transfer our scripts.
And yeah, I know I can download ID 2022. I’ve done that, so I can finish that book. But I shouldn’t have to do this. I really do not get why Adobe fails to understand that WE want to determine when and how we update.
