Honestly as David said on the last podcast … never do a dot zero update.… in saying that if you haven’t already try disabling the gpu and that might (might ) do it … that’s on preferences or now settings.

? Well technically I’m just to the North of Joe Biden’s ancestral home … liberal use of malarkey here ? Thankfully this seems only be a InDesign problem for me (so far). Thanks for the link. Hopefully new Mac OS clears this up for you… I still remember the nightmare that was Quark 6 many moons ago… killed my Mac had to do a OS reinstall ?

in reply to: Finding Mc and O in Mailing list #14324269

Thanks Eugene. I’m happy enough with the O’ and no space, ie O’Conner so that would make the query easier and in the North mostly Mc fewer Mac (my own name McAteer don’t think I’ve ever seen a MacAteer :) I came across an article on Carli Jansen’s website about a plugin for ID, Multi-Find/Change (https://www.automatication.com/index.php?id=24) that lets you built queries and batch them together, I’ve got to investigate but there might be a solution with this.

    Hi David,
Yeah, because my iMac is relatively old Late 2013, the GPU is off by default, doesn’t recognise the card…
Compatible GPU and Monitor not detected…
Funny Illustrator is happy enough with it, anywho I’m thinking it maybe the signals from the monitors, I’m using DVI D to Thunderbolt on one and HDMI to Thunderbolt, and they are lower end market monitors.

    Hi Grace
Are you talking about arrangement of display windows in the System Prefs, have that set up already and mouse movement across the three screens isn’t a problem, this seems to be a InDesign generated/My monitors feed bug.

in reply to: High Sierra #99236

    Thanks Dwayne
I have a 2013 27 inch iMac plain old SATA drive. Yep that patch seems to have fixed the cursor problem, and checking the boards haven’t heard and new problems pop up. That’s my plan for tomorrow afternoon sorted, update to High Sierra.

David thanks very much, appreciate the help.

PS thanks Kai for your help :)

in reply to: Add Numbered List to Running header #86331

Well, I’ve given it a couple of weeks, gone over the instructions pdf again an again, even got our IT support to watch me to see if I’m doing something wrong, but can’t make this plugin work. Have sent a message through to Power Headers via their website with screenshot included, posted my problem in the In-Tools forum, no help from any quarter, can’t really make a case for purchasing additional software to my manager, that doesn’t work or has no support! Shame if it did what it said on the tin it would have been quite useful.

in reply to: Add Numbered List to Running header #85855

Thanks Kai, downloaded at trail version of Power Headers, can’t seem to get it to lift the numbering, have defined the variable, (much like the TOC pop up) and made sure to click the radio buttons, Don’t Transfer Text, and Copy Paragraph Numbering, but still getting squat. I’m probably doing something stupid?

in reply to: ID Creative Cloud Version History #83842

Thanks all, just in the process of install CC this afternoon

    David

Many thanks for the info, I'm on Mountain Lion on a Macbook, its probably buried in some obscure corner of Systems Preferences or maybe near the fn key! It's all in an effort to keep the hands on the keyboard and get faster in InDesign.
