MemberI found a way!
I don’t know if I can post a thread from another website, but there is a script that does what I need.
:)Riccardo Riguzzi
MemberThe script idea would be great, but I have no idea even from where I could start XD

MemberI’ve tried to use it, but when I go to install, there is no option for cc2017 =(

MemberLet me explain:
The header has been made by hand to let everybody see what I want to get.
Of course the real one must have some kind of text variables (or other system) to automatically update depending on what is on the page.My first attempt was as follows:
I set a text variable pointing to the Maker paragraph style.
“Tabella applicazioni batterie” is not another variable but it’s the running header “text before”.My problem is, using text variables, I’ve been able only to create the header that says “Tabella applicazioni batterie”-VAR1-/-
VAR2-Where VAR 1 is the first Maker paragraph style occourrence and VAR 2 is the last.
So to get back to my example image, inDesign created a header with:
“Tabella applicazioni batterie ADLY/APRILIA”
and it’s ok, but I’m looking for a way to make indesign put all the makers of the page and not just the first and the last ones.Riccardo Riguzzi

The table in one story.
As you can see the makers are the ones in the black background and, at the top of the page I’d like to have all the maker after
“Tabella applicazioni batterie”Just to be clear, the header on that spread has been made by hand.

MemberNope =(
Sometimes I can have 4 of them and other time just one.
They are motorcycle manufacturer, so I can have one page with 4/5 small ones (like KTM or MBK) and other pages with one that goes on and on on several pages (i.e. YAMAHA)Riccardo Riguzzi
MemberI’ve tried your tip and it works, but I can’t understand why :D
Now it’s only a matter to cut and paste back 2 headers for something like 45 tables D:Riccardo Riguzzi

MemberI’m using CC 2015 with the last update :(
I’ve tried to use every PDF profile, still same result…Riccardo Riguzzi
Memberthanks a lot!
Right now I managed to replace the codes using the find/place by list script delivered with inDesign
It took just a while to write the code using some lists from excel and text wrangler to copy/paste everything with the right format.I check immediately the free script you linked!
Cheers!

Memberalso another question…
I need to replace all the codes I put in a table with other codes, is there a simple way to do it?
The codes are a direct match like:OLD NEW
0001 AXCK1
0002 PKLM3
0003 QWSW2
0004 CDK12Riccardo Riguzzi
MemberThx a lot!
UPDATE:
I don’t know why but I get an error when I try to run the script.
I’ve copied your code and pasted it as shown in the post you linked (and here is a link to a screenshot of my script copy/paste: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0oislVwKoh-NHFsYUZHS2dNN00)
And here is the error I get: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0oislVwKoh-eE1GdmlzNW9hZHcWhat am I doing wrong?

Memberthx for the advice, the thing is it’s a quite big catalogue (322 page, over 12.000 product codes, I’m not joking).
The previous designer used to use Xpress, create an index/toc using a character style as a parameter (not a paragraph style, and it was quite useful because she could have codes inside paragraphs lines), save the list of entries (every line had a code and its page number) as a RTF file and then use a script to collapse all the entries in a style she wanted (code n,n,n,n)I’m trying to find a way inside indesign and I would like to avoid to add every entry as a topic for and index.
Right now I found a way, similar to the one of my ex colleague, that is:
1) from my catalogue file, create a TOC with no page number to have all my entries in a list
2)copy the list into a new indesign document. save it.
3) use this script https://www.kahrel.plus.com/indesign/index_from_wordlist.html to add all the entries of the list to my catalogue topics
4) create an index. But I’m wondering if there is an easier way :)
The other difficulty is to be able to have the codes “free” inside the paragraph, so it would be great to be able to use a character style and not a paragraph style to create the codes entries, but I cannot create a TOC using a character style as a parameter…

MemberTHX!
Riccardo Riguzzi
MemberSorry for the late answer (and thank you very much for the replies!)
All the first codes are numbers. The second codes start with a letter, but the letter isn’t always a H, it could be also a P, a S, a N etc…
