ParticipantI am also discovering this problem for a project in progress. Surprising that book feature does not include a continuous numbering of footnotes while it includes a continuous numbering of pages …
Since the time (2012!) Adobe could have added that… It seems obvious to me. But can there be a script or a plugin somewhere ??

ParticipantOui tout à fait. Un peu à l’image de ce que j’utilise avec MS WORD lors de la création de multi index. Une couleur pour chaque index, c’est très pratique lors de la mise au point des index, de “voir” où sont les tags. Je souhaitai le même principe en environnement Indesign pour visualiser l’état des styles charactère déjà posés. Ici effectivement la solution de Claudio est un workaround en attendant mieux. et donc un grand merci pour ce script de Marc Autret que je vais tester aussitôt. Je connais le site mais n’avait pas cherché assez ;-)

Yes the underline is a workaround. Thank you. But I would have preferred to use a background (temporary) more visible … But I did not find in the properties of a style. Maybe there is another way ???
