ParticipantIf not Leonardo da Vinci or Jean Bon-d’York, you could try:

ParticipantThe problem is not really the use of cross-references and an auto num that seems totally relevant but how these RC will be created [one by one] and how the game will be played … with images and associated lists updates [manual update in InDesign (add-delete legend piece name/number – added-removed associated RC) or use, for the “legend” block, of a linked text (to an Excel file, automatically updated, but associated RC manual added-removed)].
The RC creation batch and the use of linked texts could seem to be the hardest way to play the game! … but not truly sure! ;-)Michel Allio for FRIdNGE
ParticipantHi David,
To be truly “precise” … the way with the “Paragraph Border” setting doesn’t work!! But it could be “acceptable”.

ParticipantLess elegant but more readable! …
app.selection[0].rows.itemByRange(app.selection[0], app.selection[0].rows[-1]).select();

ParticipantI didn’t talk about this variant because it seems to be less fast than the one I gave. ;-)

ParticipantHmm! …
In ID, when you select some cells in a table and want to select the corresponding rows, you just click on the “shift” keyboard [“adding”] AND, THEN, “on the first cell then on the last cell of the last row covered by the initial selection” (that selects the last row)!
THIS is exactly what the code simply means! ;-)
Have a good day!

ParticipantI always think simpler than most:
app.selection[0].rows[-1].select(SelectionOptions.ADD_TO);

ParticipantI want to physically “select” the rows!
app.selection[0].rows.select();
doesn’t work!

Participant… Just by curiosity:
If you just select some cells (not the entire rows), how do you get the selection of the entire corresponding rows?

ParticipantHi Massod,
Just loop on “app.documents”.

ParticipantMasood,
As often about me, you’re totally wrong! …
The last script I gave for free, some days ago, had … 2 lines!
Maybe you become old and forgot you posted a comment in this thread! ;-)

ParticipantHmm! … I’ll do it in 1 click with a simplistic Find/Replace! …
After having applied a char style to the words in the paras the user wants to be catched in the TOC, supposing he will use char styles (eventually the same one) applied to the delimiter and the page number in the TOC settings, this (these) char style(s) containing something different by comparison to the para style applied in the TOC [for instance, a new “black-2” color], he’ll just need to play in the TOC story:
Find: “Black-1” color
Replace by: nothingBest,

ParticipantI’ve written a script to export a range of pages of a doc like: 2-5, 9-17, 23, 28, 34-39
Just selecting these pages in the Pages panel!… So, using its main function, it could be simplistic to give us the number of the selected pages = 21! [if I correctly count! =D)
