ParticipantHave you tried exporting the InDesign file as IDML, reopening the IDML and exporting it again as PDF. I hope this will resolve the issue. In case not, try checking the images as Edwin suggested.

ParticipantSo, my question is: Where should I start?
Should I invest in a in person class?I would suggest, If you can come to India, then please be my student, I don’t charge much :)

ParticipantIt seems your page size in Printer Setup is different than the one in InDesign. Try changing the printer page-size. Secondly, If you’re getting wider spaces on the right, it shows your page size is Letter size (8.5 x 11 inches) not A4. Please check this out.

ParticipantNo, I don’t recall anything like that. You can consult some script writer to get you going, If it is so important for you.
Masood Ahmad
ParticipantNo, there’s nothing like that in InDesign. Since both the applications are different, so is their behaviour.
Masood Ahmad
ParticipantI think you have to consult a Script writer to get this automated if this is something regular, else you have to do it manually.
August 22, 2017 at 3:53 am in reply to: Possible to evenly distribute right tab aligned text over two lines? #96964Masood Ahmad
ParticipantI would suggest to make a few changes to your styles:
1) First, stick to the Right Indent Tab to separate the two fields. In case you need more space between the two, you can add an additional En-Space before the Right Indent tab (but I think that won’t be necessary).
2) Second, change the Paragraph Alignment to “Right Justify” under the ‘Indents and Spacing’ tab of the Paragraph Style Options dialog box. This will keep the last line, aligned to Right. The same is called “Justify with last line aligned right” in the Paragraph Palette.
3) Third, add this GREP Style to your paragraph Style. This will keep the last two words of the paragraph together. You have to create a ‘NoBreak’ character Style with the ‘No Break’ attribute only under the ‘Basic Character Format’ in the ‘Character Style Options’ dialog box.
GREP Styles:
Apply Style:NoBreak
To Text:(?<=.)(?=\w+[[:punct:]]*$)Hope this resolves your problem. If not, please share some portion of your file with me and I’ll try my luck.

ParticipantHi Obi, I think I must salute you for your wonderful contribution and thinking out of the box. This is really amazing. Thanks for sharing the file with us.

ParticipantWell, I don’t think InDesign Export RTF feature can export the images as well. The Export RTF feature is meant to export the text only for the purpose of proofreading or editing.
Secondly, to get the images along with the text, you can export the InDesign file to PDF and then export the PDF from Acrobat as RTF or Word Document.
Hope that keeps you going!

ParticipantLOL! Sometimes things so simple becomes complex as we’re intent to think within the box. @Christy, I’m not pointing on you, but I have seen people in my team as well, who struggle for the simple things. On the other hand, I appreciate that you work in Normal view mode instead of Preview mode, because that’s what professionals do.

ParticipantIn addition, try to learn the book features

ParticipantI think you’re working on InDesign ME. Go to the Paragraph Panel and you’ll see two Text direction icons, click on the the Left-to-Right button.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantThanks XMPie Team, I’ll check this out.

ParticipantCurious to know, what exactly is XMPie?
