ParticipantBleed marks (usually set at .125″ in US) allow designers to have artwork that extends beyond the trim or crop line so that when the piece is cut or trimmed along the crop mark, there will be no white showing. Many commercial pieces are cut by machine, so the bleed helps to allow for slight variations in the actual cut line. Hope this helps.

ParticipantThanks. I suspected as much. The frustrating thing is that unless one is diligent, the default seems to be to save files to the cloud, which I had apparently done without intending to. I will likely be more diligent from now on, until the next unexpected changes occur. Grrr…

ParticipantIf you are using InDesign 17, the Align tool is located under Object and Layout in the Window menu.

ParticipantIs this what you mean?

ParticipantBrian, did anyone ever respond to your question? I have the same question regarding team projects in my graphic design classes. We need a way for each team member to work on an InDesign publication that will show everyone’s work and update automatically. Would this be InCopy, I wonder?

ParticipantI should add that I’m using a Mac with 10.10.5 and InDesign CC 2015. And I want to use Print Booklet, which is very fussy when page sizes are changed, or has been in the past. Thanks.

ParticipantThanks for the information. I had actually tried going to PDF via PostScript and Distiller and was still getting pages off center. I had left out a step in David’s helpful HOW TO; I forgot to set the PPD. When I did that, everything worked beautifully, and I am now able to print spreads or pages one at a time. This was really important, as I would print images via inkjet and then letterpress print the type. Being able to reprint only certain pages was a god send. Sweet!! Now all I need is a better inkjet printer to get those images looking their best. (I was using an Epson Workforce 1100). Still, this technique will prove very useful in book arts classes. Thanks to all!!

ParticipantI posted yesterday that I had already unchecked Shuffle, to no avail. I ended up dragging the stuck pages one at a time to another document, where they landed unstuck. I then deleted the stuck group and dragged the unstuck pages back to the first file. It worked, but was s bit of a hassle.
