MemberDavid,
Thanks for the link. But none of these apply and we’ve tried nuking preferences. But it is the same behavior computer to computer, so preferences are unlikely.
Also it only occurs with this one type of document using linked Excel files of this length with tables. If we bring the data in as tabbed text, no slowdown at all. But tabbed text doesn’t work for this particular publication.
Hoping someone has some answers because this has had us stymied for years.

MemberAnother fix we found helpful due to incosistencies in older documents (legacy files a bane of my existence.)
If you have a bunch of existing frames that have text-wrap turned on and you want to be able to quickly fix them use object styles.
We created an object style that just has the Wrap Text turned off and no other options selected. That we can quickly fix existing documents. We separate our content by layers so I can just select all the content of a layer, click this object style and done. This is very helpful with long documents (in our case catalogs.)
If you need to use other object styles you can always select this object style and then back to your existing one.

MemberI figured a couple of things out with this and am going to repost my question now that I have new information.
Consider this closed.

MemberRydesign,
Thanks for your response.
There are 165 pages like this one, the data is from a linked Excel file and flows from page to page using a Master Text Frames. Using the NEXT style would not work as I would have to create a DIFFERENT style for each line to make sure they cycled correctly.
Inline logo-Next Style Shoe Type
Shoe Type-Next Style Shoe Name
Shoe Name-Next Style Width
Width – Next Style Construction, etc, etc, finally ending with the final “spec” line that has a next style of Inline Logo
I also have pages that have multiple widths and pages that have 2 of the same model with 2 different colors. There are FAR too many variable to use something that requires a predictable pattern. That is why I am wanting to use GREP. It is far more robust and flexible than either “Next” style of Nested Styles. Now that I know how to make sure my slashes appear correctly I'll rephrase my original question so that it is more clear.
Sorry I can't send you a file due to NDA policies here at work. Again thanks for the response.

MemberDamn all of my slashes disappeared. Any idea how to make those work in this forum?

MemberThanks for the feedback. Sorry for not coming back to this post, we got into our ctatlog season and I am just now up for air before we get into the next one.
This is what I ended up using.

And yes Jongware's grep did finally work for me. I have no idea why it didn't at first, but I am assuming it was a fleshware error on my part.
This is REALLY handy for us and I have resued this bit of code accross several books. It is AN AMAZING timesaver.
Well when my team actually uses it.
Thanks for the mention of the WhatTheGREP script. https://www.jongware.com/idgrephelp.html
I will check it out.
Once again thanks Salieri.
