    Good luck Evita.
Just a note my method will remove the page number references from the end of the two of the lines that are combined and then leave the last one.
So create your TOC with the page numbers and the FInd and Replace will take care of the rest.

Had another go at your problem. this one is not so simple but it should work and be useable.

One restriction here is that the ‘flip’ has to be a complete spread or it is a bit difficult.

Create the document with two page Masters.
The first one A-Master set it up normally with page numbers set up with the normal auto page numbering. Simple so far.
Next create B-Master which will be for the flipped pages that will have reverse page numbering. In this one create a text box to hold the page numbers but leave them blank for now.

Create the first section of 41 pages with A-Master, remember this is easier if the centre does not have one flipped and one standard page.
Then create the second section of 41 pages with B-Master.
Now select all the section to be flipped and go to VIEW > ROTATE SPREAD. Now this section is upside down.
Next go to each page in the second section and manually rotate all items on each spread 180% to get everything displaying correctly.

Now for the page numbers in the second section.
You can either make a list of number say 1 to 41 or more manually or in Excel how ever you want. each number should be separated by a COLUMN BREAK.
Then start at the last page and PASTE the number list into the page number place holder.
Link this text box to all the page number box in section B, use OPTION as you link them to make it quicker and easier.
Now you have your numbers correct, delete a page or spread and the number reflow.
Pages display normally in InDesign bit when you export it a PDF you will see that the section section is upside down as required for the flipped second section.

Now very elegant but ti work. The easier way is to find a printer who will impose two InDesign documents or one that will accept a PDF file) that would be 98% of printer these days).

    Hope this helps

Kelly that looks OK but the wording would need to be exact or this will not work.
I would do it with a GREP find and replace and use wildcards and paragraph formats to the do this.

Create the TOC with each level using the Paragraph Style used in the document you will use this to find the level you want to change.
The SUB HEADING is not being changed so set its format how you want it in the TOC dialogue box.

For each step set in the FIND/CHANGE dialogue box the Paragraph Style of the level you want to change and run the GREP find change just on the TOC story or you will change somethings you don’t want to.
Do these steps in order or they will not work.

    First Step

Find Paragraph Style – eg CONTENTS FOR DAY
    Find
    (.+)(\d+~b)
    Replace
    $1

    Second Step
Find Paragraph Style – eg DAY
Replace Paragraph Style – eg TOC
    Find
    (.+)(\d+~b)
    Replace
    $1

    Hope this works for you.
If you have any problems please send some examples.

Looks to me that you will need to add the pages number manually (be careful or you will get errors).

The other option is to use a script.
This might do the job or ask one of the InDesignSecrets scripting experts for advice.

    Or this one might help.

If this is being printed first talk to your printer.

I would create this as two files of the same number of pages and have the printer impose it to suit.
This would be two standard documents it will be easy enough to work on, just open the two documents side by side as if it were a spread.

I would make this a Book file so that your paragraph styles etc are synced between the documents and even have styles based on each other one for English and one for French so that the language is set correctly for each section.

If the printer insists on a single file you could create a PDF file and move and rotate the pages as required by the printer.

InDesign templates can sit anywhere on your system there is no default location.
They will only stay in your ‘Open Recent’ if the template itself was one of the 20 most recent files (or what ever number you have set in preferences).

You can of course create a Template folder and save all your templates there.
When you want to use one just open the .INDT file in the finder or explorer and it will open in InDesign as a new unnamed document.
If you use the templates often make a Shortcut and place it in the sidebar (or equivalent on a PC) then you will see the shortcut in the Open dialogue box.

Not sure what the problem is.
Group the three text boxes and then move them where ever you want. You may need to set Ignore Text Wrap if you are using this in the layout.
Or Create Outlines and you will have three vector graphics to work with, again you can group these so they move a one.

Once grouped you can Move them to Front so they sit on top of everything else.
Or even create a new layer at the top of the stack and then place the logo on to this new layer.

I find it better to create logo in Illustrator and then place them in to the layer.

Set a higher value to the Text Wrap of the picture, this will offset the text more.

Only one last thing I can suggest with no confidence it will work.

Create a CELL STYLE with a know font, give the cell a fill colour which is obvious and normal text insets. Give this a name.
Then create a TABLE STYLE that uses the cell style.

    Now apply the table style.
This should clear any problems in the table, remove any corrupt fonts used etc.

If you can apply the style you can try to delete the table (or with any luck you might be able to use the table.

Most likely the whole thing will crash again. But it is worth a try.

    Can you select the table?
If you can I would try CONVERT THE TABLE TO TEXT.
This will probably crash as well but it is worth a try.

Or if the table is not in the text flow you could try deleting the page with the table from the document.

Copying a layer from a multiple page document to another is a very different challenge. InDesign does not offer this functionality.

So you will need a script to accomplish the task.
Try this one, just follow the instructions as you need to do everything correctly or it will give you errors.

One way is to Right Click on the layer in the layers pallet and choose SELECT ITEM ON LAYER (this will be the name of the layer you have clicked on)

Then click the FLY OUT at the top right of the LAYERS PALLET and tick PASTE REMEMBERS LAYERS

PASTE IN PLACE into your other document and it will create a new layer with the same name and all the elements from the original document.

If the documents are a different size or one is facing pages and one no them the layer will not line up the same but just move it to the correct position.
There might be a better way but that is my approach.

in reply to: Problem with Optical Margin Alignment in a list #97143

I think the trick is to change the amount of the optical margin alignment in the Story dialogue box (this appears to be the zone where the optical margin will affect) .

The default is 5pt, change this to 30 or 40pt ( the amount required will depend upon how far your text is offset from your bullets) and the text will optically align following the bullet points.
This sill also indent the bullet slightly from the left hand side of the text box.

This might not be a perfect fix but it should be a good starting point.

If you want to see it it have to be inside the page and not in the trim.
Maybe you could extend the background of the image to have that bleed.

If you have a background image that can extend into the bleed.
