MemberI’ve that happen here and there, but only when I have the “preview” turned on in the page panel preferences. When I turn that off, it seems to go away.
I keep that unchecked anyway, because I’ve found it slows down the scrolling.Dwayne Harris

I think it’s great that the font is being improved and there is a reporting system to get the bugs worked out.
But personally–I would never use the font. I don’t have time to work with buggy fonts. And that’s just me. I’m glad they are fixing it and I know it takes time.
But for a person such as myself (and the company I work for), we have crazy deadlines. Sometimes two or three weeks from 1st pass pages to the finished product for printing.
Heck–I sometimes get one or two days to take the Word file and make good pages in InDesign for first pass.
I’m sure other folks may not have those sort of deadlines and have the time to deal with problem fonts.
As I said–I’m glad it’s being actively developed, and maybe at a date when it’s all fixed, I may give it a try.

MemberHopefully someone else will chime in, Nick. I have no idea why you don’t have that option.
I admit I don’t have CC2017 available at the moment.
But I was able to unlink in previous versions of Indesign.

MemberI confess I’ve never had links to Word documents. And I take it the broken links show up in your links palette (like artwork)?
If so, you should just be able to click each one (or all of them by holding the shift key), right click and select “unlink.”
That’s what I do when I get a file full of incopy documents (ICML) that we don’t need or aren’t being used.

MemberThankfully I’ve never had to use that sort of subscription.

What version of InDesign? What operating system (Windows or Mac)?
Is it the same file affecting all the machines, or can it be any file?

MemberTotally agree with the others about PowerHeaders. You could probably do it with variables, but it would be diffiult and there would be no easy explanation on how to do it.

MemberYup–you’re right. I, for some reason thought it disappeared when the hard return was deleted in the foonote. But all deleting the hard return does is make sure it aligns properly. The # stays.
Dwayne Harris
MemberIt shouldn’t cause a problem, but it probably means that your footnote isn’t aligned to the bottom of the page.
When I insert a footnote (only one a page), I always delete the hard return at the end of it. That way, it aligns properly and I don’t get the # marker.
If multiple footnotes, I always delete the hard return on the last one for the same reasons.

MemberHi Taylor.
Are you on a PC or a Mac? Are the files being worked on individual machines, or via a server.
The first thing that comes to mind is a font conflict.
But are the fonts for the other individuals coming up as the old font, or coming up missing and asking for the new font?
Dwayne Harris
MemberDavid, I’m calmed down. And I should not have taken it personally.
But I don’t recall deleting any of my posts.
Dwayne Harris
MemberStupid comments? And you expect me to take your advice of whether I should post or not?
You know you were clearly wrong as you even apologized for yelling at Malcolm.
With that being said, thank you for your latest post helping Malcom. I’m sure it will be helpful and others may find it helpful as well.
I have no intention of getting into a pissing match with you, or trading insults.Dwayne Harris
MemberThere is no need for exclamation points or being a pompous ass.
Dwayne Harris
MemberNo need to apologize, Malcolm. I realize it was less than 24 hours. I was just going by the times that show up.
In any event-whether it was 2 hours or 24 hours, no member here should accuse someone (i.e., you) of not giving a crap about their post.
I ticks me off that you were treated that way.
