David BlatnerKeymasterThat is a fascinating idea, Laura! I do not know any easy way to do this. But maybe someone could write a script that exports text based on paragraph style… like, “export a text file, but only paragraphs with these styles.”
I think one problem could be the order of the text. Unless it is all in one story…?
There are tools out there for exporting text, such as: https://www.rorohiko.com/wordpress/indesign-downloads/textexporter-4/
David BlatnerKeymasterYou can use Find/Change to search for any text that has the underline formatting, and change it to apply the character style. See:
https://indesignsecrets.com/import-word-files-into-indesign-remove-local-formatting-but-keep-italics-and-bold.php
David BlatnerKeymasterI am VERY sorry for this problem! You should have also received a follow-up email with an explanation:
We apologize if you received an email today from us saying you had renewed your membership! Our developers have been working our subscription system, and something… well, something went wrong and it triggered this email. As far as we can tell, your credit card (or PayPal account) was not charged, and no other changes were made to your InDesignSecrets account.
Ironically, the problem happened because the developers are trying to move us to a better system with fewer membership problems! Sigh.
David BlatnerKeymasterDo the whole numbers also have a decimal point at the end? For example, 135.
You should do a grep search (in find/change) for\d+\.[^\d]
which means “look for one or more numbers followed by a dot, followed by anything that is not a number”
David BlatnerKeymasterAfter you do a package, I don’t think the document has any way of “remembering” where the original images were. So I do not think there will be a way to automatically relink back to the original sources.
David BlatnerKeymasterAre the original images all in one folder? If so, you should be able to use the “Relink to Folder” feature inside the Links panel menu.
Or, maybe this script will help?

David BlatnerKeymasterHere’s an important post talking about how to install scripts you may find in the forums. A syntax error may mean those quote marks got turned “curly”
Also, Brian: is that Mac only, or will this work on Windows, too? (I see “~/Desktop/” which makes me think it’s expecting a Mac)

David BlatnerKeymasterThat looks neat! But Brian, just to confirm: that’s only the UI, right? The dialog box? It doesn’t actually change anything in the document?
David BlatnerKeymasterHm. Good point. Maybe this? https://indesignsecrets.com/topic/resize-all-graphic-frames-at-once/#post-77307
David BlatnerKeymasterNot a script, but will this help?

David BlatnerKeymasterHi Four! Nice to see you here. The only incopy training I know is from Lynda.com, which as you said, is part of LinkedIn Learning now. You sure you can’t watch that? (A lot of public libraries now have LinkedIn Learning subscriptions, so you can see them free there.)
You can also hire Anne-Marie or Chad or someone else to do a half- or full-day training. We have a form here: https://indesignsecrets.com/resources/training-and-consulting
David BlatnerKeymasterI have seen that before, but it almost always updates if I just zoom in and then out again, or switch to a different page and come back again. It just needs a little push to refresh.
Another thing that sometimes helps: Turn off choose View > Preview on CPU.
David BlatnerKeymaster@Murat: I think you can find it here: https://colecandoo.com/2019/11/30/data-merge-to-single-records-pro-now-available/
David BlatnerKeymasterStan, you probably want to look at this article:

David BlatnerKeymasterHey, Aaron! We were typing at the same time. :-)
