David BlatnerKeymasterYes, 15.1.2 is just a tiny bug-fix from 15.1.1… Should be no problem (and might even fix something for you).
The problem with scaling an image sounds pretty strange. Not sure why that would have happened.
By the way, there were dozens (perhaps hundreds) of bugs in CS6, too… you just rarely know about them. Same thing with the list of bugs that Adobe notes in the update. The majority of these don’t affect most users, so the first time you know about them is when you see Adobe stating they’re fixed.
There is no doubt that CC takes some getting used!! But it’s progress. Focus on the new things you can do. :-)
David BlatnerKeymasterThere are a number of companies out there who do translation workflows with InDesign, such as Redokun.com and star-ts.com/indesign-translation/
There are also likely scripters who can create this kind of relinking automation for you. I’ll see if we can find a couple to connect with.
David BlatnerKeymasterWOW! That is awesome news. I hope everything keeps working great.
David BlatnerKeymasterAh… sorry about that… sometimes messages get “caught,” especially if you post several in a row.
David BlatnerKeymasterWhen you place the PDF, turn on Show Import Options. Check to make sure the size is set to “Media” and not “art”
David BlatnerKeymasterWow, it sounds like a really frustrating problem!
One of my favorite troubleshooting techniques is to log in to a different account (even the Guest account) on the Mac and try running InDesign from there. If the problem goes away, then it’s probably something in the main users’s “Library” folder (or something associated with that user account.
Have you tried rebuilding InDesign’s preferences file?

David BlatnerKeymasterThere are many options for making fonts.
There is a tool called IndyFont which actually lets you make fonts inside InDesign! https://indiscripts.com/category/projects/IndyFont
Another insanely cool tool is called FontSelf, which lets you make fonts from Photoshop or Illustrator: https://www.fontself.com
(Note that the SVG fonts it makes will generally work in InDesign, but not necessarily for all output. It’s worth testing!)
However, you can also use Find/Change to insert graphics, which may work for you:

David BlatnerKeymasterHm. Something is wrong. When I select all the pages in the Pages panel, or if I select both pages of Master Page A, and then change the height, ALL the pages change.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don’t think this has anything to do with how much RAM you have. 16 GB is plenty to export almost anything. (Unless your PDFs are in the hundred of megabytes or gigabytes large?)
I’m guessing there is some other problem happening.September 3, 2020 at 10:31 am in reply to: Add 1″ to bottom of document without moving elements #126824
David BlatnerKeymasterYou may be able to use the Page tool. Select the master pages (or the pages you want to change), choose the page tool, set the Reference point in the Control panel to one of the points at the top, and then make the page taller (add 1″ to the Height field).
David BlatnerKeymasterOne way to do this would be:
- Create a rectangle
- Select the white-arrow “Direct Selection” tool
- Deselect by clicking somewhere there are no objects
- Click on one of the corners with the tool
- Move it up or down by dragging, or pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard, or adjusting the Y value in the Properties or Control panel
David BlatnerKeymasterI think that’s an option in the Creative Cloud app, when upgrading? Sorry, I don’t recall…
