David BlatnerKeymasterHere's my guess: You added or removed a single page somewhere, causing left hand pages to turn to right hand pages (and vice versa). This is a classic problem in InDesign (and QX before it). The overridden master page items (frames you've put stuff into) get locked into place and then when the page moves, ID has to “reapply” the master page to it, causing the heartache you're experiencing.
David BlatnerKeymasterWhat does happen when you choose View > Fit Spread in Window? Does some of the frame stick out, hidden beyond the window?

David BlatnerKeymasterYes, please check out Claudia McCue's blog post (here) about this, too.

David BlatnerKeymasterGreat! Here's my write up of the step-by-step process to make one of these:
Making an Object or Text Change Based on Left or Right Page
Once you make one, copy and paste it, or save in a library or something.
David BlatnerKeymasterI know this is a crazy idea, but I figured I should at least suggest it: I wonder if at some point you are accidentally pressing the keyboard shortcuts to change the View > Display Performance options. Is there any chance of that?

David BlatnerKeymasterWacky! My guess is that it has to do with the difference between how WordPress (our blog CMS) handled comments and the particular editing plug-in (WP plug-in) handles them. We'll continue to explore.
David BlatnerKeymasterInDesign docs are definitely not immune to corruption, but what you're describing doesn't seem like corruption to me. (Though I could be wrong.) Are you sure no character styles are being applied to the text? I've found that a lot of time when people apply styles and they get the “wrong” font, it's because there's a character style applied, rather than None.

David BlatnerKeymasterI know what you're talking about, but I think this method makes more sense. Find/Change should be treated like a panel, basically, and all the panels are toggles: KBSC to show them, and same shortcut to close them again.
Obviously, it's the kind of thing that would be cool to have as an option, but I think Adobe doesn't want to offer a bazillion different preferences.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou probably want to turn off Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking, in the File Handling pane of the Preferences dialog box.
