David BlatnerKeymasterI agree; it is a very frustrating omission. I encourage you to tell Adobe at their support/feedback page!
David BlatnerKeymasterYour panels are floating, not docked. If you move the tool panel to the left a little you'll see a vertical blue line indicating that it's docking. Then the docs won't go behind it. Undocked panels float above your document windows.

David BlatnerKeymasterInteresting… this question has come up a few times recently. Unfortunately, Data Merge cannot do that. Data Merge is a very simple tool. You might try one of the other database publishing programs, such as DataLinker from Teacup Software or EasyCatalog.
David BlatnerKeymasterDoes it work to choose Window > Arrange > Float All in Windows?
David BlatnerKeymasterVery interesting idea. Should work, though no guarantees. I don't think there are any problems with having a document in more than one book…. but one thing to be careful of: open Book Numbering Options in the book panel menu and turn OFF automatic repagination (so it doesn't try to keep renumbering your pages). Do this before adding any documents! You might also want to turn off all the options in the sync options dialog box, so nothing accidentally gets synched.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't think that post is about putting the back page and the front page together on the same spread. Are you trying to create “printer spreads”? You can't do that in InDesign with a multi-doc book. It's better to export to PDF and use a plug-in there. Or, even better, get your printer to do it for you.
David BlatnerKeymasterEPUB cannot convert objects or object formatting, sorry. You would need to define those areas in the CSS file.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou might take a look at dtptools.com cross-references pro plug-in. It offers more functionality for x-refs than the built-in feature.
David BlatnerKeymasterFunny, we just discussed that in the podcast that went live this morning. No, there is no way to disable that. Some folks like it, some hate it.
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, that is usually the best route for getting rid of any traces of plug-ins.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't know of any way to do this. Sorry!
David BlatnerKeymasterQuit and restart. If that doesn't work, then rebuild preferences.
David BlatnerKeymasterNo, there is no way to convert MathML to InDesign without a plug-in. The only MathML plug-in I know of is MathMagic: https://www.mathmagic.com/
David BlatnerKeymasterHi Julie, glad you got the book; thanks!
In general, people usually just create the artwork on the page, draw trim marks around it and duplicate the whole thing. (For example, Option/Alt-Shift-drag to duplicate exactly down the page.
You can use the CropMarks.jsx script in the Scripts panel to create the crop marks for you if you have a single frame the size of the final artwork. Just select that and run the script by double-clicking on it.
Or am I missing something?
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, and then after you add them, you can delete them and it will ask you what color you want them to be replaced with.
Another option is the Find Colors feature in Blatner Tools. I specced that plug-in for exactly your sort of situation: Where you need to find one color throughout a whole document (or multiple documents) and replace it with another. Or figure out where a color was used!
