David BlatnerKeymasterWeird! I assume it doesn't do that on a new file you create? Just this one?
Try exporting the file to IDML (or INX if you're in cs3) and open that. That might remove any kind of corruption that snuck in.
David BlatnerKeymasterSounds horrible! And it sounds as though you've tried all the obvious stuff.
I wonder if: You're saving to a server? Perhaps there are corrupted fonts or font caches? You're using Save As every so often? You're using any plug-ins that might be causing weirdness?
Obviously, most ID users don't have this issue. Not sure what could be “special” about your set up that would cause this.
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, here are two articles about that:

and
https://creativepro.com/cus…..iginal.php
In CS4 and CS5 you can also use the Edit With feature.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't think there is any way to control the order of the seps. You could print one plate at a time (using the Output pane of the Print dialog box) and then create PDF files of each and then merge them into a single pdf (if you really need them as one pdf file).
David BlatnerKeymasterNo idea. You're pushing the outside of the envelope! Are you using an ME version of Acrobat? I have never really had much luck with Acrobat's Reflow.
Oh, one idea: InDesign doesn't, by default, tag PDFs with the Language. If you open the PDF document, choose file > doc properties, and change the language to Hebrew, does that help? (You even need to do that for English, for a proper Accessible document.)
David BlatnerKeymasterJongware: “you might want to allow more than 9 consecutively numbered headings”
David: Umm… no, at that point I would send the document back to the client along with a 3-day old dead fish (which usually ensures they don't call me back).
Biggedybong: You are right that there is much to learn. Jongware is a great help. Also check out: http:/indesignsecrets.com/grep for more resources, including books and videos on the subject.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou need line numbers? Here are some options:

or maybe even better:
David BlatnerKeymasterI think this should do it:
^(d.)+
David BlatnerKeymasterI have seen the kinsoku stuff come in from Word files, but I have no idea why it's there. It almost always just requires doing a remove overrides in InDesign. Frustrating.
CS4 and earlier had a “default font” of Times. CS5 switched to Minion Pro for a variety of reasons. If you need Times, you'll have to build that in to your paragraph style.
David BlatnerKeymasterProbably just has to do with what percentage you're at. But for accuracy, hold down shift key while dragging a guide to snap it to the nearest tick mark in the ruler.
David BlatnerKeymasterAdobe has said they like to update every 18-24 months. CS5 came out around the end of April, which was about 18 months since CS4, I think. But I also know that many people have asked Adobe to have longer periods between upgrades… it's hard for everyone, especially with so many programs in the suite.
David BlatnerKeymasterCreate the color swatches in the swatches panel while no documents are open. This will add them to all future docs you make, but not to previous docs.
David BlatnerKeymasterBefore investigating any XML question, I always ask: Have you read Maivald's XML and InDesign book? Or Dorothy Hoskins'? Or watched Maivald's XML video at lynda.com?
XML and InDesign is rarely as easy/obvious as it seems like it should be.
David BlatnerKeymasterIn this case I would just make a 2-page document: one page for each side of the sheet. The pages should be 6 x 4. No need for margins, probably. You can put a ruler guide down the middle to indicate (on screen) where the fold will be, or draw a tiny line in the middle that actually does print if you want that instead. I don't have a 4 x 6 printer, so I'm not sure how best to print to that.
David BlatnerKeymasterI can't think of any good way to do that. Sorry. But you could delete the master pages, then package, then undo the deletion, right?
