David BlatnerKeymasterThat is very odd, actually. Hyperlinks are the one thing that usually do work well in Mac Preview. However, Preview is notorious for causing problems. I always recommend people use Acrobat Reader instead.
David BlatnerKeymasterI suggest contacting Justin at ajar productions and asking how much it would cost to write a custom script to do this. Should be very possible.
What are you doing with the HTML files that you export with in5? I am just curious.
David BlatnerKeymasterThere may be a script to do this, but I don’t know of one. The easiest way to do it is not the most fun, but it works: Save multiple copies of the same (whole) document, then open each one and delete a bunch of pages, then save and then add to a book file.
In other words, to split one 100-page document into two, save two copies of the same file, then in the first one delete pages 51-100 and in the second one delete pages 1-50.
That said, if the book is made of multiple stories that you each want to work on separately, I might recommend using InCopy or WordsFlow or something like that, so that you keep the final document one INDD file, and just split up the editorial outside of InDesign.June 26, 2014 at 9:10 am in reply to: Shift $sign (added as bullet to style) from Left to right #69166
David BlatnerKeymasterBart Van de Wiele showed how to put bullets on the right side of text in InDesign Magazine issue 56:
https://creativepro.com/issues/issue-56-type-issue
That might work?
David BlatnerKeymasterIf you have used character styles or paragraph styles, then you may be able to use indexmatic from indiscripts.com
David BlatnerKeymasterWorld Ready Paragraph Composer isn’t enough, unfortunately. See this article:

David BlatnerKeymasterHi Jeremy! Unfortunately, it’s a long story but no, the year-long membership to InDesignSecrets and InDesign Magazine was not given to all PePcon attendees this year. Instead, Tammy was taking membership signups in the lobby at $15 off for attendees. I’m sure we can work the same magic for you even after the show, though. We’d love for you to renew. Please contact support@indesignsecrets.com and she’ll help you with that!
David BlatnerKeymasterPutting one frame on top of another is not really a problem; it’s just part of managing objects on your page. There are lots of ways to lay out a page. I encourage you to check out my title “InDesign Essential Training” at lynda.com. If you don’t have a subscription, you can get a week free at this link: https://www.lynda.com/trial/indesignsecrets
David BlatnerKeymasterThe titles are in their own text frames? But you cannot select the frames? Are the frames behind other frames? (You can click through one object to the object below by command/ctrl-clicking with the black arrow Selection tool.) Or maybe they’re locked? (Choose Object > Unlock All on Spread)…?
David BlatnerKeymasterHi Srinivas: Are you using epub or DPS? I don’t think the liquid layout features work with EPUB, do they?
David BlatnerKeymasterProbably the easiest way is to use the Chartwell font:
https://creativepro.com/creating-instant-charts-with-chartwell.php
or
https://creativepro.com/chartwell-bars-scalable-data-merge-shapes.phpbut use a “bar chart” instead of a pie chart. It would grow as the number increases.
David BlatnerKeymasterNo, no… is is the first time ever that you DON’T have to manually reinstall workspaces, etc.! One of the great new features in 2014 InDesign is “seamless update,” where it moves all that stuff over. I’m not sure if it does plug-ins, though. That could be dangerous (as they sometimes need more subtle updates).
But yes, it does live alongside InDesign CC 2013.
David BlatnerKeymasterWeird. And it’s only when you print? What if you make it a PDF? What if you turn on View > Overprint Preview? If they look good in the PDF, I would likely be blaming the printer.
David BlatnerKeymasterIs the background a spot color or a process color?
