David BlatnerKeymasterThat is very strange! If you just type with that font on a new InDesign page and export as PDF, does it work correctly? Have you tried exporting to PDF from a different computer?

David BlatnerKeymasterActually, you cannot determine the “true space” between paragraphs like this, because the size of text is almost never really the size you specify. I talked about that a bit here: https://creativepro.com/set-the-size-of-text-exactly-based-on-cap-or-x-height.php
Usually designers don’t focus on the real space, but rather the space from one baseline to the next

David BlatnerKeymasterMatt, I just realized that Peter K’s article on page 48 of InDesign Magazine issue 76 also explains a good solution… convert all formatting to tags in the text, then run grep, then reverse, setting the tags back to formatting. Wow! (This would be a good thing to set up with findchangebylist or MultiFindChange by automatication)
David BlatnerKeymasterYou mean in a final PDF file? No, I don’t think there is any way to do that.
David BlatnerKeymasterCorrect, InDesign does not currently support SVG import or export. I have been pushing Adobe to add this, because I think it would be very helpful. Illustrator can create SVG files, but you cannot place them into InDesign (at this time) and have them exported in the EPUB file. You could probably crack the epub file and add an SVG file manually, though.
David BlatnerKeymasterID does not have a feature that sizes text to frames, but there is a feature in the Text Frame Options dialog box that lets you size frames to the text.
I strongly recommend learning a bit more about how text flows into InDesign master page text frames. It doesn’t have to go margin to margin. You can place a frame on a master page and then use File > Place to put the text into it and have it flow automatically.
Search the site here for placing text or flowing text. There are a lot of videos about this at lynda.com also (including my own Essential Training title).
David BlatnerKeymasterComet is a prototyping tool, not a digital publishing tool. Adobe DPS is pretty clearly focused on the enterprise/business/large-scale market at this point. However, there are several other products from other companies you should explore (Twixl, Aquafadas, etc). Keith Gilbert will be covering the pros and cons of each in his tutorial at The InDesign Conference. If you can make it there it’ll be worthwhile.
David BlatnerKeymasterThe panels appear to stay “open” when I switch if (and only if) I have them expanded in the dock. That is, not popping out form the dock, and not floating, but in a dock and expanded (click the double-arrows in the upper right corner of the dock)
Definitely not optimal, though.
David BlatnerKeymasterLinking to word files is not always easy, unfortunately, especially when you’re trying to map styles. You may need to use a tool such as WordsFlow from emsoftware.com
David BlatnerKeymasterMarian: I don’t think that will work in EPUB/FXL. Not sure what you mean by ISO device.
