David BlatnerKeymasterI have not seen that problem. I wonder if it’s something wrong with your operating system permissions. You’ve tried restarting the computer? I’m not sure how to reset permissions on Windows 10, but maybe there’s a trick there?
David BlatnerKeymasterI have often seen images that appear correct in Explorer (or Finder on the Mac) appear sideways when placed in InDesign or opened in Photoshop. I suggest opening in Photoshop to see if they are correct there. Also, you may need to resave them to disk from Photoshop to ensure they are encoded correctly.
David BlatnerKeymasterI’m not sure if this alternative import filter works?

David BlatnerKeymasterI think perhaps you just dragged an image into here? Our forum doesn’t currently support uploading images. So you’d need to put it in a shared image site, such as dropbox or imgur or something like that.
David BlatnerKeymasterAre you trying to synchronize across a number of documents that are in a Book panel collection?
I wrote about this a bit here:
David BlatnerKeymasterWell, you don’t have to outline text to stretch it, resize it, etc. You can even stroke editable text and set the fill to None color.
But in this case, I think there’s simply something wrong with that object. I don’t know what it is — maybe some kind of corruption — but you absolutely should be able to convert it to outlines, apply a color, and have it work.
If you delete the old one, and put a NEW text frame with editable text over it, and set it to yellow… and then convert it to outlines (if you want)… does it work now?
David BlatnerKeymasterMore questions:
When the text is set to yellow, if you choose View > Overprint Preview, does the yellow disappear?
What is the yellow text on top of? Some color? If you remove that background, does the yellow stick around?
Are there any transparency effects applied to that text frame in the Effects panel?
What is File > Transparency Blend Mode set to (RGB or CMYK)?
David BlatnerKeymasterIs it possible the yellow color is a spot color, rather than set to Process? Also, when you export the JPG, try turning on “Simulate Overprint.”

David BlatnerKeymasterLong shot idea: Does it make any difference if you go to Preferences dialog box > Units & Increments, and change the Origin popup menu from “Spread” to either “Page” or “Spine”?
David BlatnerKeymasterSorry the post got held for moderation, Nick. That sometimes happens on our forum.
Also, if you want to include code here, you can surround it with either code or pre html tags, and that keeps it clean.May 8, 2024 at 2:54 pm in reply to: 2 master pages on the same spread are conflicting (???) #14403257
David BlatnerKeymasterI can’t think of what the problem could be. If you want to send me a link to download the document, I’ll take a look and see if I can see anything obvious. If you don’t want to post a link here, you can email me directly at david [at] creativepro.com

David BlatnerKeymasterWait… the color block is on a different layer? Perhaps this is a layer thing. Is the layer that the color block on the left page is on turned off/hidden?

David BlatnerKeymasterSorry for the trouble, Milton. Sometimes posts get held for moderation on this old forum.
Just so I understand: On the “child master” are you deleting all the tabs except the ones you want?
This does seem like a weird problem… seems like it should work the way you expect.
RPN?! Wow, memories from high school! And also from years of PostScript programming, which is all stack based (such as “5 5 add”)
