Sometimes that happens when you click the frame instead of other text. For example, if a frame has a fill and stroke of None, then you are applying that to the text.

That is a very good question about web vs. print logos. Personally, when I work with logos, I always have an RGB version and a CMYK version — even if they’re vector. That way, I can ensure the RGB is right and the CMYK is right.

I don’t think the extra buttons should add a huge amount of overhead to the PDF.
The purple bar problem is extremely annoying. I haven’t seen it recently, though, so it might be dependent on which version of Acrobat you’re using.

Loic, thank you for the suggestion. There are many commercial tools for doing this (including EasyCatalog, DataLinker from Teacup, and so on)… but the person said “free”!

I don’t know of anything specifically. On the Mac, you could probably create an applescript that exports an image from InDesign and then converts it to Photoshop Bitmap.

I’m curious why you want a black and white bitmap like this?
