David BlatnerKeymasterYou could do this with Data Merge, perhaps, but only if the file path were in a CSV file.
A script to convert the path to an image is certainly possible. Would the image be placed as an inline (anchored) object? How large should it be? Not sure how the script would know all that.

David BlatnerKeymasterI think you need to do this with 2 objects in InDesign: one for the image and one for the border. You can just put one above the other and then group them together.

David BlatnerKeymasterAre you quitting InDesign properly? You’re not doing a force-quit or end-task right? That messes up these kinds of things. If you are doing a normal Quit, then my guess is that something is wrong with your permissions on your computer and InDesign is having trouble writing its preferences files to disk.
David BlatnerKeymasterDid you try UTF-16? See:
David BlatnerKeymasterIn CC 2018 and later you can apply a specific object size as part of the Object Style, but I don’t think you can set it as a percentage. You can also set Frame Fitting to fill frame proportionally, and turn on Auto-Size so that it will stay filled if the user changes the frame size.
David BlatnerKeymasterThank you, Kathleen! Please do come back and tell us what your experience with Affinity Publisher is over time.
Here’s a short story: About 15 years ago, after I had mostly stopped using QuarkXPress and started using (and recommending) InDesign, I had a meeting with some executives form Quark. They asked me what they could do to convince me to start recommending QX again. I had a simple answer: Just make QuarkXPress better than InDesign. If there were a design tool better than InDesign, I would love to tell the world about it.
Publisher is clearly a 1.0 product, and my sense is that it’s greatest strength so far is that it will be inexpensive. That may be compelling from a hobbyist or student perspective, but it’s not compelling from a “pro” perspective. What matters to me is the ability to create awesome designs — great type, great color, great output options, etc. — with as little effort as possible.
In the meantime, we have published a “First Look” here:

David BlatnerKeymasterThank you, Michel! Nice script.
Note that it’s easy to apply a keyboard shortcut to a script with Edit > Edit Keyboard Shortcuts. :-)August 29, 2018 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Exporting Different Color profiles from one document #110148
David BlatnerKeymasterInteresting idea. Perhaps you could make 2 spot colors:
“blue rgb”
and “blue cmyk”
The blue RGB would be a spot color specced with RGB colors; the cmyk blue would be a blue specced with CMYK colors. You’d assign RGB blue to everything. But when you want it to export using CMYK, you would use the Ink Alias (in the Ink Manager) feature to alias the blueRGB to blueCMYK… and then set the blueCMYK to separate to CMYK.More here:

David BlatnerKeymasterThank you, Andre! Yes indeed… I’ve removed that bad link. How annoying!

David BlatnerKeymasterThis script can move objects:

David BlatnerKeymasterChristian, we are sorry that your message disappeared. Something about the message triggered it to require moderation. (Maybe the ALL CAPS?) I published it now.
No, there is no change in InDesign’s behavior. This continues to be an annoying problem.
It is possible that a script could move the object up to a blank line before the paragraph.
David BlatnerKeymasterThere are some tips here:

David BlatnerKeymasterGlad you found it! The best option is usually to use a “Last Line Right Indent” like this:
