David BlatnerKeymasterThat is a seriously weird mystery. I don’t think I’ve seen that before, and I cannot identify why those guides are there.
Does it happen to all documents you create? Did you do something to this document to make it look like that? Is it just this one document?
David BlatnerKeymasterHi Janet! :-)
What kind of files? Are you sure the files have the proper file name extensions? For example, “MyFile” won’t work on the PC, but “MyFile.indd” will.
David BlatnerKeymasterThat’s right… 2020 removed some of those features and moved others. Some went to the bottom of the Tool panel. Bridge and Stock are both in the File menu. Arrange is in the Window > Arrange menu.
David BlatnerKeymasterFascinating! I strongly suggest one of you post this bug on indesign.uservoice.com and then everyone who has this problem “vote” for it. That’s one of the best ways to get the InDesign team to pay attention to it.
David BlatnerKeymasterNever seen that before!
David BlatnerKeymasterWhoa. I think I’m seeing what you mean now.
What happens when you export as PDF/X1 or X4?
What if you copy the objects to a new document and export that way?
David BlatnerKeymasterWell, color management (maintaining consistent color from screen to print) is a huge topic. I did a course on it at Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning: https://linkedin-learning.pxf.io/69WoG
However, the fact that it looked “right” when you export at smallest file size is an interesting clue. Smallest file size converts everything to RGB, so it’s probably quite accurate for what you see on screen. But it’s not accurate for CMYK print.
I assume you’re trying to maintain the difference between bronze and black… but that bronze is a very dark color. That’s going to be tricky to print! Remember that print may involve dot gain, which makes everything darker.

David BlatnerKeymasterWow. Yes, baffling. All documents (including new docs) or just some? Did you try rebuilding your preferences?
David BlatnerKeymasterNo, InDesign Server is not required for this. But Data Merge will almost certainly be too basic for a catalog. I would suggest watching something like my video course called “InDesign: Data Merge” here: https://linkedin-learning.pxf.io/kXD9z
But you’re probably going to want to work with a tool such as EasyCatalog (from 65bit) or InCatalog or Cacidi Extreme, or with a service such as Pagination.com

David BlatnerKeymasterAck! I didn’t realize that was an issue with ExtremeCharts. You can usually strip that data out by saving as IDML and then opening the IDML file and reserving.
David BlatnerKeymasterThanks for sharing that!

David BlatnerKeymasterLOL. No problem Theunis. :-)
David BlatnerKeymasterIDML supports them just fine. That is, if you save as IDML and then open that IDML back in ID2020, they work.
However, of course they don’t work in ID2019. It comes in as a missing font.

David BlatnerKeymasterI just placed a 13 MB PSD in CC 2019 and in CC 2020. The INDD file and an exported PDF is exactly the same.
If you look in the Links panel, does the PSD image show up as embedded by any chance? That would make the INDD file bigger. As for PDF export, it depends entirely on what PDF Export preset you’re using.

David BlatnerKeymasterThat’s weird. Very weird.
