Re: Why do chapters have to be an even number of pages?
Typically, the first page of a new chapter is on the right side, an odd page, so the last page of each chapter needs to be an even number.
Also, keep in mind that a booklet needs to have a page count divisible by 4 (each sheet has 4 pages). So, if you have a 26-page document, you need to add two pages (blank or otherwise) to make the booklet.

Member-New Document
-Number of Pages: 6
-Start Page #: 2
-Check Facing pages-Pages->Uncheck Allow Document Pages to Shuffle
-Right Click on Page 2, Number and Section Options, Start Page Numbering at 1That worked for me. This question comes up a bit. In printing, the odd pages are always on the right side. (Front cover, inside front cover, page 1, etc.) What is your reason for wanting it this way? For final imposition?

MemberDo you have some chapters with an odd number of pages? If so, you need to add a blank page to make it even. (Make sure Print Blank Pages is checked for printing.)

MemberConsult with your printer; some presses handle duotones better than others. I’ve had the best success saving a duotone file as a Photoshop EPS.

MemberYou can put them into a Book. (.indb file)
File->New->Book
Drag your files into the new Book palette.
It takes a little learning to understand how it works, but it sounds like a good idea for you. Also, when you export the entire Book as a PDF, you can then Extract all the Pages separately in Acrobat.
Hope that helps.

MemberSamba, I tried to recreate your PSD and InDesign files, and the RGB stayed the same, Export PDF with Output->Color->No Color Conversion
How it looks on your screen may be due to Overprint Preview (which looks more like CMYK).
What is your final output? If it’s being printed, you should work in CMYK, as RGB colors (especially that blue) cannot be produced with toner or ink.

MemberWhen a long document fails like that, I always suspect a PostScript problem.
If you haven’t already:Try:
-Export to PostScript then Distilling first (Try PDFx/1a:2001 Standard)
-Tools-> Print Production->Convert Colors->Conversion Profile->Gray Gamma 2.2 (or any of the Grays) – Check Preserve BlackPitStop Pro may not be a long-term solution for you, but you could try it with a trial version.

Memberrubens, post your screenshots/.idml file, but here are some common issues:
1. Is there any artwork on your Master Page?
2. Text Wrap on on Text Frames, even on Hidden Layers (this can be turned off)
3. Are you using Effects, such as a drop shadow?
4. Try exporting using PDF x/1-a StandardColleen Shannon
MemberJames, there are some workarounds for these kinds of problems, and sometimes it’s just best to select the whole table, Table->convert table to text, then Table->convert text to table.
Otherwise, you can create new rows, copy the info into them, or play with Split and Merge cells. Sometimes you can select multiple cells, right click and Unmerge Cells.
Don’t try these without saving a copy of your document, of course.
Good luck.

MemberYou may be able to do Find/Replace if your header is a different font from the rest of your text, or is a Paragraph Style.
Find: ^p
Change to: ^picon
Find Format: (font name, size)
Change Format: (icon font, size)This will change the font of your header paragraph symbol to the dingbat, but you can fix that with a second Find/Replace.
There may be a better way, though!

MemberYes, that can happen. Sometimes Save As…or Export as an IDML will get rid of that info in the file. Also, delete or convert any spot colors to process. Exporting PDFs to x1/a standard is usually good too.
